The seeds are set, and the draw is out!
As you may have heard by now, the biggest news -the potential meeting between Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal in the Quarter Finals - Wimbledon 2013! They haven't been scheduled to meet this early since 2004 at the Australian Open. You bet, this will be a blockbuster!
In reality the chances are dwindling for Roger as each major passes by but, this has been his stomping ground for so long! Rafa on the other hand, is fresh off his French Open victory and will be keen to make it to yet another final since returning to the game. Roger will pretty much be smooth sailing right up to the quarters, while Rafa could meet Stanislas Wawrinka in the fourth.
Novak Djokovic has come out on top with the draw not having to face any of the other top 3 until the Finals. Our money is that he will make it all the way but he will face some of the other big names. The resurgent Tommy Haas who defeated Novak earlier this year is a potential opponent in the 4th round and Tomas Berdych could also be waiting in the quarters.
Andy Murray is the lucky one in the middle who could face either Roger or Rafa in the Semi's, but Tsonga will have something to say about that if they meet in the quarters.
On the women's side Serena is in the same half with Agnieszka Radwanska, her opponent in last year's final. Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova are set for another semi-final clash.
For the Aussies, Bernard Tomic gets American Sam Querry in the first round and Lleyton has drawn Wawrinka. James Duckworth has drawn Denis Kudla and Matthew Ebden has a tough one against Kei Nishikori. On the womens side Sam Stosur meets Anna Schmiedlova in the first round. C'mon Aussies!
So whip out the strawberries and cream its time for Wimbledon! We are very excited!
